Jeff Smith - Jeff started his professional recruiting career shortly after graduating from Brown University. In 1980 he joined Millipore Corporation as Employment Manager in their Bedford, MA Corporate Headquarters. Over the next 15 years Jeff hired hundreds of Engineers, Scientists, Sales, Marketing and Technical Support personnel with expertise in Filtration, Separations and Water Purification. It was this experience that laid the foundation for his now very successful Recruiting practice. Jeff has established an excellent client base, including most of the major firms and numerous smaller, niche firms in the Filtration, Separations, Water and Wastewater Treatment industries. Jeff considers himself a bit different than most “Headhunters” and this seems to wear well with both clients and candidates. With his easygoing, honest style, penchant for detail, and a need to keep everyone well informed throughout the process, as well as his guarantee of total confidentiality throughout the process, he has developed a strong business centered around repeat customers and referrals.
Ric Feldt—Ric has more than 25 years experience supporting the development and manufacturing of filtration products, water systems, biotech and pharmaceutical products. As Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Millipore in the 1980’s, he was responsible for the transfer of UF and RO products and water systems into manufacturing, including the initial launch of continuous deionization systems (CDI). When Millipore’s Water Division was sold and became Ionpure Technologies, Ric had a key role in managing the manufacturing startup. He has 15 years experience working at several well-known biologics and pharmaceutical companies, gaining knowledge of drug discovery and development, filling and packaging, and contract manufacturing. Most recently he specialized in process improvement, leading programs for Operational Excellence in R&D and Manufacturing.
David Ostrow – After graduating with an engineering degree from Rutgers University in 1987, David began his career as a project engineer in the aerospace industry. In 1994, he made the transition to a sales engineer in the semiconductor industry. For the past 13 years, he has had roles of sales engineer, regional sales manager, and small business owner in water treatment, primarily related to the beverage, biopharm, power generation, and desalination industries. Having been placed in the filtration industry years ago by Jeff Smith & Associates, David gained a unique perspective of the value that this recruiting firm brings to the market, to both employers and job seekers. It is that perspective, combined with his engineering and sales background, knowledge of the filtration and water treatment industries, and strong industry contacts that make David an asset to the team.
